Incubate
It all starts with the Incubation stage where ideas and opportunities that often come about from common problems we face in work/personal experience are evaluated for their perceived opportunity to create a new or better solution.
Each idea is analysed in terms of feasibility and originality, market demand, market size, customer value and potential for a sound business model to be built. If such a case exists, a prototype is created that solves the problem in an innovative and engaging way.
Iterate
The next stage is Iteration where the prototype is evolved through internal testing and usage until it does the job that is intended and is stable enough to release.
Launch
During the Launch stage we extend the user base of the Alpha release from the core development team to other members of the client organisation as part of a Private Beta. The Private Beta is all about letting real users try out the prototype and provide feedback on usability and bugs allowing us to quickly improve upon initial ideas and codebase but away from the public eye.
This stage is also the right time to develop relevant marketing, promotional and partnership efforts and materials that fit nicely with the offering.
The next step is thePublic Beta stage where we let members of the Private Beta invite more users and the peer-to-peer marketing efforts kick in. The aim of this phase is to grow the userbase and increasing awareness of the app both online and offline.
Scale and Improve
The Scale and Improve stage is an ongoing process that should be focused on enhancing the usefulness of the app to its audience as well as extending the audience through additional functionality and partnerships with other entities.
